In Rememberence:
The members of the Delaware County Kennel Club were sadden to learn of the death of their President Bill Barcus on July 12, 2010. Bill had been sick for some time and gallantly fought his battle with cancer until the very end. Bill was Vice President of the club from 1996-2001, and President from 2002-present. Bill’s energy and enthusiasm as our president could be seen in the club’s many accomplishments. He led the club during the period in which we went from a small 1 day show in September to a prime cluster weekend (with Terry Nuss), the Celtic Classic, in March. Our club has lost a good friend, a strong leader and a hard worker; the animal world has lost a true champion.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barcus family.

(Other recipients that day included: Upper Chichester Officer Jason Yalitchko and K-9 Diego; Donation to club member Linda Murphy and K-9 Danny who belong to a Search and Rescue Team.)

Community:
The Delaware County Kennel Club is very community oriented. We have donated first aid kits to the PA State Police, armored vests to local police departments for their K-9 companions, oxygen masks to local fire and rescue departments to be used on animals suffering from smoke inhalation, and money to our local SPCA for use in caring for rescued animals. In March 2009 we proudly presented our 15th bullet proof vest to Officer Jax during a presentation at the Celtic Classic. Below is a presentation in May 2009 of 13 First Aide kits to officers of various departments in Delaware County.
